Thank You World

2/08/2014

Filled with gratitude, singer-composer Jim Paredes has done what he
knows best: compose a heartfelt song thanking the world for helping
Filipinos.

"The most touching thing was we won humanity. I really felt everybody
came together for us. I think the reason they came to the rescue is
because they've experienced the hospitality of Filipinos living in all
over world. They've probably seen how gentle we are as a people,"
Paredes added.

Song with a purpose

The song, "Thank you world,"
was mainly sung not by popular artists but by 9-year-old Andee Achacoso
and Dorothy Chrizelle Baladjay.

Paredes said he opted to tap
unknown and young singers to let "sincerity shine through." He also
asked help from Jennifer David, who used to make videos for the Apo
Hiking Society, of which Paredes is a member. The photos featured in the
video are meanwhile from Alekz Londos who was among the first
foreigners in Tacloban after Yolanda hit the province.
